Loops For The Troops

There has been a great show of support for Loops and the race. Thanks to everyone involved!

Sandra Williamson wrote for Loops for the Troops Run & Walk.

Calgary is having the Loops for the Troops race on Father’s Day – June 19th 2011

The Calgary race will be in the same great location near the Glenmore Reservoir for another year.

It was a beautiful day on Sunday as the race wound it’s way around North Glenmore Park.  It was a great turnout with even the Stampede Queen and Princesses showing up.  The Calgary Stars Gymnastics team were onsite and did a fantastic job of cheering on the runners.

We had some great runners out there including several soldiers training for the 2010 Mountain Man Exercise.  For that they will run 32k with a 15Kg Rucksack, then a 3.2km canoe portage followed by a 10k paddle on the river then a quick 5.6k march to the finish line.  Kudos to them!
